ABOUT
Tasha M. Wilson-Wood
Award-Winning Supplier Diversity Leader, Advocate & Founder of TW Consulting Group
My story begins in Youngstown, Ohio, where community, resilience, and faith shaped who I am today. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help others — that sense of purpose wasn’t something I stumbled upon later in life; it was instilled in me by the women who greatly influenced my life. Both of my grandmothers were powerful examples of compassion and service in action. One worked as an EKG technician at a local hospital, dedicating her days to caring for others with quiet strength and skill. The other served as a caseworker at the county Department of Job and Family Services, where she spent her career advocating for families and helping them access the resources they needed to thrive. Watching their dedication, empathy, and work ethic showed me that helping others isn’t just a value — it’s a way of life.

MY STORY
As a first-generation college student, I carried my grandmothers' lessons with me. I was awarded a full scholarship to The Ohio State University through the Young Scholars Program, which was designed to enhance academic preparation and increase access for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. Coming from an inner-city school system, the program opened doors I hadn’t imagined possible and gave me my first real exposure to the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion in action.
I began my undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University as a pre-med student before earning my degree in Human Ecology with a focus in Family Studies. My career began in child support services, helping families navigate complex systems, before an unexpected opportunity introduced me to the world of business.
Over the next two decades, I built a career across the financial services, insurance, automotive, and energy industries, developing expertise in procurement, operations, and supplier diversity. Through those experiences, I discovered my true calling — helping businesses and organizations turn opportunity into access and impact. My work became about building bridges: between corporations and diverse suppliers, between preparation and opportunity, and between intention and inclusion.
After completing my MBA at Ohio Dominican University, I transitioned into leadership roles focused on supplier diversity and economic inclusion. In those roles, I worked to connect small and diverse-owned businesses with meaningful corporate opportunities, helping them strengthen their readiness and visibility in competitive markets. Over the years, I’ve learned that inclusion and access don’t just happen — they are the result of intentional strategy, partnership, and compassion.
That belief inspired me to launch TW Consulting Group LLC, a purpose-driven firm dedicated to helping small and diverse-owned businesses strengthen corporate readiness while supporting organizations in building meaningful, equitable impact. My journey — from growing up in Youngstown to leading across multiple industries — has always been guided by one constant: a deep desire to create pathways for others, just as my grandmothers and mentors once did for me.
Outside of my professional work, I find daily inspiration in my family. As a wife and mother of two, I strive to instill in my children the same principles of perseverance, integrity, and purpose that have shaped my life and career — reminding me that inclusion, compassion, and impact begin at home.
